⚠️ DRAFT — not legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review before publishing.
1. Short version
If your card didn't work, tell us and we'll fix it or refund it.
If it worked and you simply changed your mind, we generally can't refund it — because you already have the product.
Email us first: [email protected]. We answer, and it's faster than a bank dispute.
2. Who issues the refund
Polar is the Merchant of Record for your purchase. Refunds are issued through Polar and appear on the payment method you used. We instruct Polar; Polar performs the refund.
3. Digital content and your right of withdrawal
Your cards are generated and delivered immediately after payment. At checkout you expressly request that immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose any statutory cooling-off period that would otherwise apply — including the 14-day right of withdrawal under EU and UK consumer law.
This does not remove the rights described below, or any rights you have that cannot be waived under the law of your country.
4. When we will refund you
We will refund you in full if:
- your card was never delivered — payment succeeded but no card was issued;
- your card does not work — the link or QR code fails and we cannot fix it;
- the card was materially not what was shown — you received different content from what you selected;
- you were charged more than once for the same purchase;
- you did not authorise the payment.
If you didn't receive your email, check spam first — then contact us. We can resend it.
5. When we generally will not refund you
- You changed your mind after receiving a working card.
- You made a typo in your own text. *(Contact us anyway — see below.)*
- The person you gave it to didn't find it funny.
- You printed it at the wrong size and it wouldn't scan. *(Contact us — we'll help you print it correctly.)*
- You lost the file. *(Contact us — we can resend it. That's free.)*
6. Typos
You write the text on your card, and it is printed and published exactly as you typed it.
We are not obliged to refund a typo, but contact us anyway — in most cases we would rather correct the card than argue about $3.
7. What happens to your card when we refund it
A refunded card is disabled. The link stops working and the reveal page shows a short notice instead of the content.
Please consider this before requesting a refund: if you have already given the card to someone, their copy will stop working too.
8. Cards we disable for policy reasons
If we disable a card because it breaks our Content Policy — impersonation, harassment, publishing someone's personal information, and so on — no refund is given.
9. Time limit
Please contact us within 90 days of purchase. We may still help after that, but we cannot promise it.
10. Chargebacks
If something is wrong, please contact us before contacting your bank. We will almost always resolve it faster.
Filing a chargeback for a purchase you did make, and received, is not a refund route — it costs us a fixed fee regardless of outcome, and repeated chargebacks put the whole service at risk. If you're unhappy, email us.
Our purchases appear on your statement as JOKESLIP.COM. If you see that and don't recognise it, contact us before disputing — we'll look it up.
